I - W I N . .

Our aim is to address the most urgent and
pressing needs of South Sudanese.

About Us

Invisible Women Inclusion Network (I-WIN), formerly known as Touch Aid Organization (TAO), is legally registered by the South Sudan Relief and Rehabilitation Commission (RRC) national Non Profit, Non-Government Humanitarian Organization and holds a certificate.

In 2018, a group of educated, dynamic and like-minded youth working in the formal sector was getting increasingly concerned of the deteriorating humanitarian condition in most areas in South Sudan, and together they established an organization (Touch Aid) to address the most urgent and pressing needs of South Sudanese including food, primary health, nutrition, WASH, women empowerment, and education. After two years of operation, the organization realized that the living conditions of a significant part of the South Sudan population have improved, but the marginalized communities especially women living in the rural and hard to reach areas of South Sudan are still living in poor humanitarian conditions, have no access to resources, are highly exposed to the risk of GBV in their daily routines, and girls still have no access to education. This led to a shift in focus and rebranding to the current I-WIN whose goal is to improve the living standards of the vulnerable and marginalized women through community mobilization, capacity building, advocacy, provision of essential information, and strengthening of institutions at the grass root level.

I-WIN adopts a participatory and adaptive approach in responding to the needs of the people it serves. I-WIN works with local people who best understand the needs of the population it targets and those that are better positioned to empower women. I-WIN’s target population is vulnerable and marginalized women in the rural areas of South Sudan and therefore works with women, women-led CBOs and women groups to identify the most vulnerable and marginalized and empower them. As a women-led organization, our approach is women and girls centred aiming to create a society where women and girls are empowered to live life to full potential and free of violence and intimidation. To secure the environment in which women and girls realize their full potential, I-WIN contributes to strengthening governance structures and institutions while challenging societal attitudes and masculinities that lead to gender stereotyping.

I-WIN believes that everyone in the society has the right to good living conditions regardless their gender, age, race, religion and displacement status among other factors. We believe that no one should be invisible or marginalized as we find our way to holistic nation development: we believe that everyone has something to contribute towards the country’s development agenda, which is why we are reaching out to the marginalized women to help them understand their rights, regain their voice, and meaningfully contribute to the country’s development agenda. We believe that empowering women is creating the future we desire.

  • Mission Statement

To reach to every vulnerable and marginalized woman in South Sudan and contribute to their empowerment through capacity building, advocacy, and strengthening of support networks to the country’s development.

I-WIN adopts participatory and adaptive approaches towards women empowerment. We engage the people we exist to serve through needs assessments after which we design and/or adapt our programs to the needs of the target beneficiaries. We also conduct community mobilization and consultative dialogues with community members to find solutions for community problems. Through capacity building and imparting skills and knowledge, we empower women and communities to sustain the created change even after the lapse of our project implementation periods.
