WATER, SANITATION AND HYGEINE (WASH)
Watering the Seeds of Dignity and Security
At I-WIN, we’re turning the tide for women and girls in the most underserved regions. Our WASH program isn’t just a series of initiatives; it’s a crusade for human rights. We’re on a mission to empower women and girls in Jonglei, Central Equatoria, and Lakes states—and our vision doesn’t stop there.
Here’s How We’re Making Waves:
- Constructing and Refurbishing Water Points: We’re ensuring that every woman and girl can access clean water without compromising their safety.
- Building Pit Latrines and Hand-Washing Stations: We’re providing private and secure sanitation facilities to shield women and girls from gender-based violence.
- Educating on Water Storage and Hygiene Practices: We’re empowering women and girls with the knowledge to safeguard their health and uphold their right to hygiene.
- Distributing Sanitary Kits: We’re equipping women and girls with the necessary tools to manage their sanitation needs confidently.
Our Five Pillars of Change:
Asserting Rights: We stand for the right of the most vulnerable to safe water and sanitation services.
Elevating Understanding: We’re raising awareness about hygiene and sanitation, fostering autonomy and self-advocacy.
Championing GBV-Free Zones: We’re advocating for the creation of safe spaces around WASH facilities.
Advocating Health: We’re fighting for the reduction of water-borne illnesses as a fundamental human right.
Empowering Communities: We’re strengthening local institutions to manage WASH resources, reinforcing women’s rights at the community level.
Join us as we forge a future where every woman and girl can live with dignity and security. Together, we can create ripples of change that will transform the landscape of women’s rights in WASH.
